New York Rangers Winter Hockey FanFest Announced
The inaugural New York Rangers Winter Hockey Fest will include a variety of on- and off-ice events this weekend. The Rangers Hockey Fest will be a 4-hour event that will include something for everyone.
WHEN: Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
WHERE: Wollman Ice Rink
830 5th Avenue, New York City, NY 10021
COST: $14 for the public ice skating and $6 for ice skate rental, everything else is free
Schedule of events:
2:00 – 3:00 PM – Learn to Skate/Learn to Play – free beginner lessons (you must reserve your spot)
3:00 – 3:30 PM – Brief exhibition between Rangers and USA Hockey sled hockey teams
4:00 – 5:00 PM – Youth hockey clinic featuring Scott Gomez
5:00 – 6:00 PM – 30 minute skating session and 30 minute autograph session
Players attending the autograph session has not been announced, but Scott Gomez will be there for sure. Be sure to check out the Items To Get Signed section so you know what to purchase beforehand.
The NY Rangers FanFest is uniquely scheduled in that organizers have allowed skating to be part of this event. Being a hockey fanfest does have its unique attributes. This event is a great opportunity for the family and to meet your favorite Rangers players.
