The St John’s Outreach Center will be hosting autograph signings with DeAngelo Williams, Ted Washington, and David Thompson.  All proceeds will benefit the Outreach Center.  These special guests will be talking about the importance of education.  DeAngelo Williams had a very productive 2008 season, but due to the overflow of star running backs, Williams did not get selected to the Pro Bowl.  Ted Washington is a former NFL player spending his entire career with the Houston Oilers.  David Thompson is a former NBA player who was known as “Skywalker”.  Thompson had a very successful collegiate player with UNC and was drafted #1 overall in the 1975 NBA and ABA draft.  Thompson is the only player in history to be named MVP of both the ABA and NBA All Star games.  He was a 4 time NBA All Star and a 2 time All Star game MVP (1976, 1979).  However, Thompson just might be best known as being Michael Jordan’s idol when Jordan was growing up.

According to the source, they state that those planning to attend are encouraged not to bring your own items.  Photos of the guests will be provided for the athletes to sign.  The keyword is “encouraged”, but we would still recommend you bring your own items, but make sure you don’t overdo it.  The cost of the event is only $5 or $10 for a couple big names so be respectful in that sense.
