New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs Says No to Trading For Braylon Edwards and Anquan Boldin
In an interesting interview with ESPN 1050 New York Radio, Brandon Jacobs feels that the New York Giants should not bring in Cleveland Browns WR Braylon Edwards or Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin. According to Jacobs, “There are great players in the league that I don’t want. I just think the chemistry between the teammates that I have now is great.”
Considering the current WR depth chart of the New York Giants consisting of Domenik Hixon (43/596) and Mario Manningham, we’re pretty sure that Eli Manning wouldn’t mind throwing to either Braylon Edwards or Anquan Boldin. Yes, Braylon led the NFL last season in dropped passes, but when your team struggles the entire year, it’s hard to put up the spectacular numbers a la 2007. Anquan Boldin, on the other hand, is still a Pro Bowl receiver having been selected in 2003, 2006, and 2008. Perhaps Brandon Jacobs doesn’t understand that the reason why he’s successful on the ground is because Eli has had someone to throw to in the past.
We’re sure a team meeting will take place with Brandon Jacobs.
