Default Happy to be a part of Sports Gatherings.

I live in NJ and fly around the country so I can to meet mostly baseball players, but some football and some pro wrestlers. I have been collecting of 5 years, some autographs, but mainly a photo op of the athlete that I meet. I take that photo and enlarge it into an 8 x 10 then go back and try to get it signed by the athelete when he comes back out. I am really getting to learn about the spring traing thing and the opportunities to get photo ops with my favorite baseball players. I did FL last year and it worked out great. I need to fly to AZ this time and find out how it works out there. This is in regards to when the best time is to meet the players and where they will be at certain times. Does anyone do this>?

Welcome aboard

I think a lot of people fly out to FL or AZ for spring training just to get autographs. A lot of people will also fly out to major card shows specifically The National Sports Collectors Convention as they usually have a ton of autograph guests. In terms of specific times, a lot of people will go locally to an autograph signing session and get a photo op there. Personally I like to get the autograph and then try to get in a photo, but at the free autograph signings, it's difficult to get a photo because there is a time limit. I do like the idea of taking your own photo then getting it signed, but it sounds like a lot of work because you have to make 2 trips. Would love to see a few pics of your own stuff and see your photo skills Takes a lot of dedication to take your own pic and get it signed as opposed to just buying a 8x10 or something.
