Types of Gatherings
Having received a few inquiries about the different types of Sports Gatherings, we decided to include a section about it. In addition you’ll get a better idea of what we provide to the sports fan.
The FanFest/Convention
These are held by the organization, either at the club stadium or at a 5-star hotel (as a partnership). The fan fest is a preview of what’s to come for the upcoming season. There is always a Q&A session, fan forum, autograph session, an area for kids, and some sort of clinic (pitching, hitting, and/or running presented by a current and/or former member of the team and most of the time, they will sign autographs afterwards). The cost usually requires a daily pass or weekend pass and some fanfests require you to pay additional for each autograph. The lines are extremely long, but this is where you will find the most dedicated fans.
The Caravan
The Caravan is held by the organization and is usually a sponsored event through various companies. The caravan travels from city to city and in some cases, state to state spanning weeks to several months. This type of sports gathering is more of a promotional/PR tour, basically to promote the team in different parts of the state/country. The caravan usually consists of free promotional giveaways, autograph sessions, and perhaps a Q&A session with a “rah-rah” speech afterwards. The autograph sessions are almost always free, but the lines, as one can imagine can get extremely long. Not always though.
The Promo Autograph Signing
The promotional autograph signing event is where a local company will “hire” the athlete to spend an hour or two to sign autographs. The autographs are almost always free and the lines are always long. There is never an exception. Some examples of a promo autograph signing are: car dealership, book signing, sports collectibles store, cell phone company, restaurant, radio program event, etc, etc.
